This building in Ankara could have been made with containers. There are many times when a traditionally built looks like it could be rebuilt as a container structure.

Container building in Ankara

Here is a little building along a highway in Ankara that appears to use a container. It seems to be an office for the concrete and other trucks parked out back. I was going too fast to get a good close picture.

It would be easy to replicate as a nice vacation home or cabin somewhere and could be built slowly, starting with one 20′ container, moving up to four of them.

Picture a 40′ high cube with an awning next to it. Now imagine that awning extends over the roof of the container and is a large solar array. There is no reason not to go ahead and imagine two of them, back to back. That makes a 16′ x 40′ living space with an arched roofline and two covered areas.

This is a nice little space with integrated solar. Small, single container buildings like this make it appear small and limited for general use, though I’m sure there is a segment it appeals to significantly.
